About this print
Long before the cottage traffic, this was Bracebridge: a mill at the edge of the falls, a wooden bridge across the river, and the water pouring white over the rock below.
The engraving comes from J.C. Dent’s The Last Forty Years, published in Toronto in 1881. We restored it carefully from a scan of the book, kept every line of the original cut, and gave it a soft, aged paper tone and the caption “Bracebridge, Muskoka. 1881.”
